A Little About Me

Make Something From Witness Wood

As a disabled veteran I felt the desire to Honor my fellow veterans. I decided the best way to do that was to make  beautiful  cases for the flags that are presented to their families when they pass away. When my work was recognized by the CEO of the USS NEW JERSEY Museum, he asked me if I could create some useful items from the original teak deck of the ship, to sell in the ship's store. The challenge to make something out of this old teak that had been in the elements for over 70 yrs gave me new inspiration. What this wood must have witnessed as Admiral Halsey's Flag Ship at The Battle of Midway, through Korea, Viet Nam and Beirut intrigued me. I thought, How many times has this wood sailed around the world? No wonder it's the most decorated Battleship in the history of the US Navy.
